St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church

emdesign was first introduced to Maury Castro and the fine people at St. Christopher’s Church, in Chatham, MA, after designing a convention program for the local chapter of the American Guild of Organists, of which Maury is a member. And what a fortuitous connection! St. Christopher’s was looking for a “simple” re-design of their website, but after discussions with Maury and his staff, it became clear the time was ripe for a full rebranding of the church graphics, top to bottom.

After several visits to the church grounds, the building’s lovely architecture begged to be included in the branding. We were happy to follow that lead, and the new mark came together nicely, integrating a simplification of the church’s arcade and steeple into some staggered typography. A style guide quickly followed and, finally, the launch of that long-awaited web re-fresh.
